Honest overage pricing
$4 per evaluation beyond your plan's cap.
No throttling, no service interruption. We publish our overage rate because every dollar saved vs. an engineer-hour is the entire value proposition. CodeSignal charges $20 per credit. An engineer reviewing one candidate by hand costs $150–400. We charge $4 per candidate.

Questions
Things people ask before signing.
What counts as one evaluation?+
A single candidate completing a single assessment task — from invite through final scoring. AI conversations, code edits, and proctoring within that session are all included. We don't double-count retries on the same task.
What happens if I exceed my plan's evaluations?+
You're billed $4 per additional evaluation, with no service interruption. You can also upgrade tiers any time and we prorate the difference. CodeSignal charges $20 per credit overage; an engineer reviewing one candidate by hand costs $150–400 — we publish our rate so the math is honest.
Can I switch plans or cancel anytime?+
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade in one click — changes apply at the next billing cycle. Cancel any time from settings; we don't play retention games. Annual plans are refundable for the unused portion in the first 30 days.
Do you train your models on our candidate data?+
No. We call Anthropic and DeepSeek with no-train headers and we never use your data for any model training, fine-tuning, or evaluation set. Candidates can delete their submissions at any time.
How is this different from HackerRank or CodeSignal?+
They measure whether a candidate can solve a problem in isolation. We measure how a candidate solves problems with AI in the loop — the workflow, the prompts, the code-AI collaboration patterns. That's the only signal that still matters in a Copilot-everywhere world.
Do you offer non-profit or student discounts?+
Yes — 50% off any tier for accredited educational institutions and registered non-profits. Email hello@maven.dev with verification.
